Re: Calorimetry Group Meeting - Jan 18

Hello all:

well, I guess the masses are restless since I indeed I got an uproar ("Ask and he shall receive", John 16:23)!  :-(

Since Alex, George, Matt and Paul cannot attend this Friday, I have cancelled this Friday's meeting.

Calorimetry document
=================

Alex will send out his stuff by Friday morning.  It sounds like Matt's stuff will come out early next week?  Carl, how is your stuff going?

-Timelines (from Dec 21 Calorimetry minutes): Working backwards from a tentative review date of Feb 18, we will have the document (and associate documentation) to the reviewers by Feb 1. Therefore, allowing the last week in January for final editing, we need to circulate the document to the Collaboration by Jan 18 and request feedback by the 25th.

If we are still holding to the Jan 18 date, the drafts need to go out to the entire Collaboration. I had hoped, earlier on, that there would have been one more round within the Calorimetry Group before going out to the Collaboration, but the enormity of the task at hand and people's schedules proved otherwise.

- Once others receive the material how should we proceed?  It is a busy period for people and quite likely that few people will have the time to review the documents and return comments.  We should identify such persons a priori and assign reading, rather than simply wait for comments.  I will be happy to review all parts (Alex's/George's, IU's and Carl's).  Who else can read and give comments in the few days before Jan 25?

- To the authors: do you need/welcome help in the next stage of editing, or do you have the time and prefer to continue and incorporate comments?

SensL and Proposal
================

Elke, for this meeting we need a smaller group of people (you, Elton, George, Andrei, Carl and possibly Fernando).  Can you guys propose a time to discuss the new SensL proposal?  Friday or Monday afternoon would be ok for Andrei and me.

Cheers, Zisis...

Subject: [GlueX] Calorimetry Group Meeting - Jan 18

Hello folks:

I have two issues in this email.

1.  Day of the week and time of our periodic Calorimetry Group
Meetings.  There is a suggestion from JLab to reserve Friday's at
10-11am for our meetings.  This does not mean that we will have a
meeting every week, it is just that we are trying to find a time that
works for all active participants of our group, considering the 8
time zones between Regina through the East Coast to Athens (9 in the
summer, but we will revisit this at the time).

Please let me know if this time slot does not work for you.

2. I would like to schedule a meeting this Friday, Jan 18, so please
reply to question 1 right away.  The meeting is tentatively scheduled
for 10am, unless I hear an uproar.  The main topic is the work
towards the Calorimetry Document, but other issues can be discussed.

Cheers and thanks, Zisis...
