Hi Everyone,

Pass this on if I've missed anyone.

Elliot booked B101 for 2pm.
Paul is going to be at the meeting via phone. John Cummings is also
interested. Paul can we use the regular conference call number?
Let us all know soon, please.

I've ask for a halld-mc mailing list to be created. I'll announce it
to the collaboration once it is active.

Questions about Geant 4:

  - who else is using G4 for full simulation?
  - what are the major functional limitations / improvements cw Geant
    3?
  - correctness? Is there paper showing that G4 has simulated various
physics processes as well or better than G3?
  - performance, speed, memory footprint.
  - ...

I have set-up CLHEP 1.4 & Geant 4.1.0 on my linux box. Compiling
was smooth, a few warning which (casts from double to int) which seem
strange but the web pages say the warnings are harmless. I'm going
to try to set-up a simple geometry before the meeting.

We need to decide what work should be done before getting to gung ho
about implementation details. (Geant [34])

A first cut at a list of
things that should be simulated:

- Backgrounds - rates and spatial distributions,
  - from collimators
  - from EM
  - X-rays into drift chambers?
  - ...

- Signal
  - trigger efficacy, we say we can cut out the low energy events
(2/3 of the events), prove it!
  - physics/detector optimization - vary resolutions of subsystems
to see how it affects the PWA.
Do we do anything about a TPC?

    - given a particular trigger and detector, how effectively
can we pull out the exotic signal.... who do we quantify this..

Oh no, these last two points are the same, HELP! ;-)

We need to write analysis routines. Dennis can you do that this
weekend?

I'll start working on a document describing the plan for MC
to get us to the Design report and beyond...
