Meeting Notes Wed 19

Quick summary of meeting:

Topics:

0. Paul Brindza has done a TOSCA simulation of the solenoid with very good
progress. (Calculation time is ~2hrs). The simulation includes:
a) Standard 4-coil configuration
b) Present configuration with iron in all gaps
c) Increasing downstream gap from 6"-->12", filling additional space with
iron.

Preliminary and Tentative Conclusions:
* Treating last coil is critical as it as substantial more current
capability than all the rest.
Configuration
a) Not treated in any detail to date
b) Last iron yoke saturates badly --> investigate configuration c)
Fringe fields at approximate location of Cerenkov pmts is <100 G.
c) Yoke is no longer in saturation.
Fringe fields are slightly smaller, but scale too coarse.

More calculations are under way now that geometries are in place.

1. Review of Civil Issues (Elton and Elliott)
- Report on meeting with Radcon (Monday)
- Summary of meeting with Hall Crannell (Tuesday)
- Conversations with Lew Keller. He will be in town on Friday June 16. He
is willing to perform calculations of muon fluxes in the detector coming
from the collimator.

2. Status of PWA (Dennis)
- Preliminaries of using data from Paul Eugenio.
