Integration Meeting Notes / Mon Jun 11
=======================================
ES

notation:
* critical issue
! decision taken

Solenoid
--------
- Complete documentation of previous installation.

Cerenkov - Many issues remain
--------
- Assembly as one or more structures?
- (Hall B) clar openning door size: 14 ft x ?
- Alignment of mirrors?
- Gas system?
- Access to pmts for maintenance?
- Missidentification of particles (e.g. pions/K)

Barrel Calorimeter
------------------
- Precise geometry under study
- Area reduction for light coupling between counter and pmt under study
* How is drift chamber mounter inside calorimeter?
- Manufacturing details under study
- Hybrid pmts require low voltage
* DESIGN Critetia: Mininum energy deposition, response to particles other
than photons (e.g. charged particles, neutrons)

Drift Chamber
-------------
- Cooling issues not yet addressed
- Cabling FDC (8640 channels) - 540 34-conductor ribbon cables (7 cables
thick uniform around diameter, corresponds to 0.9 g/cm2, 3.5 rad lenghts)
- Single package CDC/FDC?
- Survey scheme to be worked out

Vertex Detector
---------------
- Where to give up acceptance? (small and large theta)
* Need MC to help define design criteria
- Thickness?
- Cryogenic requirements - operation @6-9 K, located in dewar 4-5 m from
detector
- ADC's needed?

Forward Calorimeter and TOF
---------------------------
- Self-contained separate support structure
- 30 KW
* Magnetid field @ pmts (near axis) = 150 G
- Use of hybrid pmts (central region)?

Electronics
-----------
- Routing of FDC cables
! Decision to locate electronics NEAR detector
- also MOVE with detector?
- Wireless communications?

Tagger
-----
* Question: Maximum Design Energy for tagger?
! Design magnet to go up to 15 GeV (@ 1.7 T)
==> changes to tagger building required

Overall goal: Access time for detector maintenance should be < 1 day
