electronics review - status report

Hi All

After a conference call on May 1 we concluded that a review of GlueX 
electronics
was in order and two potential reviewers were identified - Andy Lankford of
UC Irvine and Glenn Young of ORNL.  Andy has extensive experience leading
electronics projects (BaBar and ATLAS) and reviewing them (PHOENIX) and
Glenn was in charge of PHOENIX electronics.  And as you know, Glenn was one of
the reviewers for Hall D (Cassel cmte)

I just got off the phone with Glenn.  He was happy to hear how several
issues of concern raised in our earlier review were resolved (I was impressed
by how much he remembered of our review).  He is also happy to serve on the
electronics review team.

Andy Lankford and I have had e-mail exchanges and will talk today or tomorrow.

Tentative dates for the review:  Week of July 7.  The review will last about
1.5 days.  As soon as Andy and Glenn 'sign on' they will receive a 
formal letter
with charge from Larry Cardman.  Purpose of the review - to look at the R&D
to date - look at milestones and assess our readiness for a 
full-scale Lehmann review

The review will take place at JLab
