Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Experimental Nuclear Physics
at Ohio University
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Ohio University invites
applications for a post-doctoral researcher in experimental nuclear
physics. The position is renewable for up to three years with the
starting date preferably in early 2004. The successful candidate
will support research activities at Jefferson Laboratory related to
the new highly rated GlueX meson spectroscopy experiment that is
currently being developed. This position has been created to
support the design, development, prototyping, and testing of the
forward tracking detector (FDC) system within the solenoid magnet,
as well as the integration of this package with the other GlueX
detector subsystems. The FDC detectors represent the main system
for track reconstruction for forward-going charged particles. The
researcher will be stationed at Jefferson Laboratory. A fraction of
the researcher's time should also be devoted to developing and
supporting the proposed GlueX experimental and analysis program.
Visit the GlueX web site at: http://dustbunny.physics.indiana.edu/HallD/.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear or high-energy
physics and significant experience working with hardware and software
for accelerator-based experiments. Qualified candidates are encouraged
to send their curriculum vitae, a description of their research
interests, a detailed description of their hardware and design experience,
and three letters of reference to:
