Safety Focus Tomorrow Afternoon (fwd)

Dear collaborators,

As some of you may not be on the all_staff mail list, I forward the
message from Leeman to all_staf (below).

The physics division is scheduling several locations for the safety
stand-down. There will be a stand-down in the EEL to be attended by folk
working in both the EEl and the Test Lab. I suggest that Simon plan to
participate in this activity to make sure that he is aware of any safety
issues that are discussed.

I will also brief all of you informally sometime tomorrow afternoon after
I lear about various schedules.

Thanks, Elton.

Subject: Safety Focus Tomorrow Afternoon

Dear Coworkers,
Two of our colleagues have recently suffered serious injuries. These
accidents have clearly demonstrated that not all of us keep safety in
the absolute forefront while we are working. Therefore, we will have a
safety stand down across the laboratory tomorrow, January 26.
I will kick this effort off with key managers at 11:00am tomorrow and
will issue expectations and directions. These senior managers in turn,
under the guidance of their Associate Directors, will communicate and
schedule your activities for this all-afternoon stand down.
At the end of the day, I want Lab senior management's assurance that we
can complete this fiscal year without further injury to staff, users, or
subcontractors. This expectation is demanding and will require
everybody's finest effort. I expect your full engagement in this safety
focus and I want your dedication to safe behavior and continued
improvement of work place conditions.
Thank you,
Christoph Leemann
