Subject: [GlueX] Hall D leader position


Dear collaborators,

I have just completed the interview cycle for the position of Hall D group
leader. The process has brought all the challenges for the position into
clear focus, and I have come to the decision that my interests and
disposition do not match the requirements for the job. I feel it is best
to withdraw from the current search so that a fair evaluation of other
candidates can continue.

I have not spent any time thinking about the best way to contribute to the
experiment beyond my immediate responsibilities. But this decision should
not detract from any current activities as interim Hall D group leader or
in particular the work that is required to prepare for the upcoming Lehman
Review. I remain committed to continue working on the experiment in the
capacity that best benefits the collaboration.
