Subject: FDC-CDC data cables

Here are specs and pricing on the cable, and connectors that have been
selected to date. See the attached for the erni quote. The total
material price for the FDC data cabling, not including assembly, is
$230,000 with another $80,000 for the CDC to total of $310,000. This
will be by far the most expensive portion of the data cable
installation. The calorimeters and Cerenkov will use fewer channels and
less expensive cables. My contact at Spectra strip is Mike Sigmon 336
274 6952. He has just called me and stated that we can have 2500 ft of
the 50conductor cable in 8 wks if we want it. The price for the smaller
quantity is still tbd.
