Re: Updates to Hall D Detector Systems

Greetings!

John Schaapman and Lars Holm 'scrutinized' my review of the Hall D
Electronics, specifically covering the following sections:
WBS
1.5.4.1 FADC
1.5.4.2 TDC
1.5.4.4 Racks and Crates
1.5.4.5 Logic and High Voltage

I've included their comments below regarding channel counts:

[The following is our current understanding of channel counts. There are
some significant changes if these are correct.
Photon Counter – 144ch fixed + 120ch moveable = 264 instead of 250
yields 17 fADCs and 9 TDCs
Forward Drift anodes – 2,304ch instead of 2,900ch yields either 36
64chTDCs or 32 72ch ADCs
Forward Drift cathodes – 9,216ch instead of 11,400ch yields 128 72ch ADCs
Cerenkov (gas) – 16ch – yields 1 fADC and 1 16ch CFD
BCAL – two possibilities
non-uniform 3,072ch total – 1,920ch inner yields 120 fADCs, 120 CFDs and
60 TDCs
- 1,152ch outer yields 72 fADCs, 72 CFDs and 36 TDCs
uniform 4,224ch total - 264 fADCs, 264 CFDs and 132 TDCs
FCAL – 2,800ch yielding 175 fADCs ]

The latest summary table does not include the (gas) Cerenkov, and there
are differences with the FCAL and BCAL channel counts as well.

Enjoy the weekend!

Chris
