Hi Elliott,

1) The 8 geV line vertical bend magnets were built with Strontium Ferrite (the
stuff used
in Ion Pumps) and they are more rad-hard than SmCo.

2) The first person that I would contact would be Phil Martin, PMARTIN@FNAL.GOV.
He should know where they got put and if anyone around here has been interested
in
using them for other purposes.  Tell him that you are interested in horse
trading
for the PVB vertical bend dipoles.

More information on them is available in the Main Injector Technical Design
Report
which I think is available online.
