Dear All,

If possible I would like to do the noise studies in the DANA  
framework.  In the process of recording GEANT hits, thresholds are  
applied and also near hits are merged.  Therefore the threshold and  
double hit resolution for each detector become critical inputs when  
quantifying noise rates.

For those of you who are responsible for detector systems, please  
look at your detectors hitXXX.c routine in programs/Simulation/ 
HDGeant.  Check that reasonable thresholds, resolutions, attenuation  
lengths, etc. are being applied.  I would recommend updating all of  
the one page detector summaries with this information.
