GlueX Software Meeting Monday!
Hi Folks,
We will have a software meeting on Monday. I would like for us to
start taking up some of the more global issues again. With the increased
activity and the larger pool of people working on software, we have seen
issues with our work model start to emerge that should be addressed. An
initial list of topics we will need to, over time, address are:
1. Tagged versions of the code (releases)
2. Make system behaviors
3. Repository structure
4. Documentation (in and out of code, placement on web, organization ,...)
5. Event generators (standard set of inputs to genr8, other generators, ...)
We will not be able to tackle all of these in just 1 or two
meetings, but we should start developing policies on them sooner rather
than later. I would ask that everyone really start to think about these
topics ahead of time so you can come prepared with your comments/ideas.
The only way to get a good group policy is if we put some thought into
these things outside of the meeting discussions themselves.
As a reminder, the Hall-D Software meetings are Mondays at 15:30 EST.
You can connect by phone (see instructions below), or come by CC L207 if
you're on site.
The agenda for this Monday's meeting is:
1. Tagged versions of the code (releases)
2. Near future policy decisions
3. Status of CD-2 milestones
4. AOT
To connect by telephone:
1.) dial:
800-377-8846 : US
888-276-7715 : Canada
302-709-8424 : International
2.) enter participant code: 39527048# (remember the "#")
See you there,
-David
