adjustment to release-2009-05-27, ForwardDC_HDDS.xml

I've adjusted the "release-2009-05-27" tag to include the Beni's fix to 
ForwardDC_HDDS.xml. Please update and re-make your versions. I've found 
that a "make clean" should not be necessary.

Note there have also been some adjustments to the makefiles; those 
should have no consequences on the execution of the code. On the other 
hand, a complete check-out and build should be less problematic now.
