Tim,
Here are some comments on the collimator cave layout views you sent me.
- The vacuum pipe that carries the photon beam from the tagger hall
to the collimator cave is shown as 5cm in diameter. The civil plans
show a stainless steel pipe 10 inches in diameter connecting the two
halls. The simplest plan would simply be to evacuate the entire 10
inch pipe (only rough vacuum is required) in which case the pipe that
enters the cave area should have a diameter of 25.4cm.
- The primary collimator should be 30cm long. In the drawing it
looks like only 15cm.
- The pole gap in the first sweep magnet is nominally 2cm. This is
not shown, and is subject to change as we refine the specs on the
sweeps.
- The hole through the 200cm iron shielding block is shown at 1cm
dimensions. It should be a 2cm x 2cm square hole.
- The hole through the 100cm x 200cm x 200cm concrete shielding
block is shown at 1cm dimensions. It should be a 2cm x 2cm square hole.
- The secondary collimator is shown as 25cm long, or so. The
length in my geometry is 50cm, with a circular bore hole diameter of
5mm.
- The inner dimensions of the cave area in my description were
270cm high x 450cm wide. The lead wall separating the cave from the
main hall area was designed with dimensions 470cm x 270cm to completely
cover the opening in the vertical direction (270cm) and to go 10cm past
the left and right inner wall dimensions. This could be accomplished
by a notch in the side walls at the entrance to the cave.

Hi
Richard,
Slava has dimensioned the collimator layout as supplied in Igor's
Autocad file. There are many dimensions for the shielding sizes as well
as the beamline locations. Please look this over and let me know if
this is what is needed as far as locations and size. There is a top and
side view .pdf attached.
Thanks,
Tim
