Re: preampboard and shaper test
Hi Elke,
Yes this sounds like a good idea. I have been making tests here with
the cable and receiver/shaper, I think I have a first pass design for
the cable equalization completed. It will be excellent to move on to
tests with the real preamp board and the cable and receiver/shaper.
If I can receive from Fernando a pream board relatively soon, to get
these tests completed, then I think it would make a lot of sense for me
to come and work with the CDC or FDC prototype soon. Personally, I would
like to focus on the CDC first, because there we need to get best
possible timing measurement and have the larger dynamic range of signals
to handle, and especially because I have not yet had any opportunity to
work with signals from the CDC. Maybe Simon and I could both meet with
Yves at CMU for this effort. Mid-december should be possible for my
schedule. I would be unavailable from 12/21 to 1/2; the RHIC run is now
starting but I believe (but not quite confirmed yet) my new and old
hardware in STAR is working so I don't anticipate to travel again soon
for that.
Thanks,
Gerard
