Dear Elke,
On the stability question:
If we use the laser, we will use a reference photodiode in parallel(I
didn't mention this because I thought it was getting detailed).
On the LED's `is more tricky:these devices are supposed to be stable but
from first tests it is not obvious.The temperature dependence is a
disadvantage as well and we propose to study on detail.
On the placement of the sysstem:I deliberately didn't mention much (except
the size) because it is still open .WE don't even know the readout of the
BCAL outer layers!In the FCAL one could in addition should use a
radioactive source etc etc
