I agree that we will certainly should take advantage of the whole
dynamic range of the ADC. The 40 ns pulse you mention is puzzling
because it occurs quite a long time after the main pulse. I will wait
for you to post the results.

I also share the same opinions about passive splitters, especially when
used in a system with several thousand channels. On the other hand,
active splitters/buffers can be designed with very good noise, dynamic
range and bandwidth characteristics with gain matching of the order of
1%. Better matching is possible for an additional cost, of course. Power
dissipation is not an issue.
