Re: fiber emission spectra - status report

Hi Alex:

assuming that there is no obvious error anywhere in what we have done, Blake and I discussed these results this morning, and later today Blake will carefully select another green fiber (now that we have SMA connectors to do so) and repeat the measurements. Also, Blake will overlay the new fast green fiber spectra with the old ones and make some relative comparisons. We'll report back when this is done.

Cheers, Zisis....

Hi All

Blake has recently made measurements of emission spectra
for 2-m samples of blue (BCF-12), fast-green (BCF-20) and
slow-green (BCF-60) fibers for the source (LED) at various
distances from the end of the fiber attached to the
spectrophotometer.  The spectra were fit to Moyal functions,
integrated over wavelength and preliminary attenuation lengths
were found.  See preliminary results here:

This is a work in progress - more will be done by including the
spectra from manufacturer's to estimate the spectra
at "zero cm"  (similar to the analysis described in
GlueX-doc-924)

Cheers
Alex
